A Time To Remember..

(dec 26..2nd anniversary of the tsunami)

a time to remember,
not only the black disaster,

a time to recollect,
not only the loss of lives we regret,

a time to care,
for those left in despair,

also a time to remember,
our humility before nature,

a time to ruminate,
on fickleness of human life,

and a time to ponder,
how we spend rest of our time here..

me, the luckiest brother on earth!

your love, unconditional and forever,
a special bond that diminishes no never;
competitor in chief while growing up together,
i discovered you are part of me growing fonder.

you are a mirror of my past and childhood,
for my future you hold that binding thread;
few ties can be as deep and profound,
as what we share with affection abound.

everyone should have a sis as i do,
blessed i am to have a sis like you!
for the special things only you can do,
for all these things, i thank you.

wish you a love filled memorable birthday!
may your want be your world i pray,
with your will always your way,
and..
count on me sis to be for you any day.

"a disbelieving world just what cussed self-belief can do"

december 9 personally marks a day of tenacity for me. i was thrilled to see the eternal 'never say die' comeback man, Sourav Ganguly storm back again against all odds, as Kadambari Murali writes in Hindustan Times, " a disbelieving world just what cussed self-belief can do". It was as Times of India screamed, Best of Dada Vs Rest of SA.

We have been constantly fed with the explanation for the team's toothless performance that players need time to get acclamatised to the South African conditions better. So when the stalwarts Sehawag(0), Jaffer(0), Laxman(23), Sachin(10), Dhoni (6) were stillc clueless against the bounce after 30+ days in South African soil, in walked Ganguly at the score 37/3 and in less than 30 hours since he landed in SA and tamed the bowling attack to complete submission. That he had driven down the previous day straight from the airport to the ground for practice after a gruelling 28 hour flight, issued the warning of his determination and the fire raging in his under belly.

For all those of you unsavoury Ganguly bashers...well..hehe..Dada is back and in what style!

India has now skipped to the 6th position - what a fall! Before we fall below Bangladesh, Rahul Dravid should graciously propose for a change of guard. He got there anyway through the back door. For all the invaluable batsman he is and smart captaincy tactics and intelligent field settings...he simply doesn't share the emotional streak and spirit that rubs off from Ganguly to the other players. Look at the first innings when his very presence seems to have galvanised the team after Ganguly's sterling essay, with all the bowlers who went in to bat scoring more than the cummulative score of the top order in the entire tour!

As Dada quipped in the tv advt- 'who knows, I might once again wave my tee shirt!'.

After yesterday's thudering 'I am backkkk' roar from the Bengal Tiger, the whole nation is crying for more.
